Breast Augmentation / Implants
Breast augmentation is a procedure used to increase the size of the breasts with the insertion of saline or silicone breast implants. Dr. Nelson is able to place breast implants using four different techniques:
1) Periareolar– an incision around the areola
2) Inframammary– an incision underneath the breast
3) Axillary– an incision through the armpit
4) Transumbilical (also known as the TUBA)- an incision through the upper part of the belly button
Breast Lift
Mastopexy
Performed various ways, ranging from the cresent lift, vertical (lolli-pop), and the wise pattern mastopexy (anchor lift).
The subfacial mastopexy, referred to as a non traditional breast lift, is a new breast lift procedure founded by Dr. J. Dan Metcalf which provides a breast lift without leaving anchor scars on the breast. Some patients may be a candidate for this lift.
Dr. Metcalf has been Dr. Nelson’s mentor since 2009, training Dr. Nelson extensively on the procedure in Oklahoma City, later returning with Dr. Nelson to offer the procedure locally. Dr. Nelson is one of three cosmetic surgeons trained on this procedure.
Liposuction
Liposuction is a procedure to slim and reshape specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits. Lipo is performed by using several tiny openings and special equipment. This procedure is most often used on the abdomen, sides, and back.
Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
An abdominoplasty, or abdominocosmy, is a procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the abdominal area. A full tummy tuck involves removing skin and fat from above and below the belly button.
Belly Button Surgery (Neoumbilicosmy)
Neoumbilicosmy is the procedure of creating a new belly button. It is often performed at the same time as a full tummy tuck.
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction is a cosmetic procedure done to decrease breast size. This procedure can be performed traditionally with incisions on the breast or in some cases using liposuction without incisions on the breast.
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy can be used to treat men and women when their hormone levels drop or become unbalanced. It’s most frequently used to ease symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. It may also be used to improve symptoms of cancer treatment or to treat conditions such as:
- insulin resistance
- adrenal and thyroid disorders
- osteoporosis
- fibromyalgia
It’s important to know that the hormones we use for our treatment are plant-based, not man made.
Rectas Muscle Plication
Rectas Muscle Plication is a procedure performed at the time of a full tummy tuck or a mini tummy tuck that tightens the abdominal muscles after they have separated, sometimes due to pregnancy.
